Adobe Acrobat X & Adobe Reader keeps crashing in a few seconds after launch/solved

No matter which document you open, Adobe closes again after a few seconds and nowhere does one get any useful information on how to fix this problem. The context is the updater that is in some conflict with the subject matter. The conflict cannot be resolved by simply reinstalling either.

Uninstall Adobe Acrobat and Adobe Reader (if present) from the Control Panel.

Download the cleaner on this page …

Download the 2nd cleaner here …

Run both cleaners and let them run through.

PC restart

Reinstallation of Adobe Acrobat or Reader.

Before opening a PDF document, first start Adobe empty.

Go to Preferences
(via Edit menu)

Go to the updater in the preferences
and "Do not download updates automatically
or install".

confirm selection

Quit Adobe and restart your PC.

Open Adobe again and check if the preferences are still saved.
(If not, repeat the process.)

Adobe should no longer crash.
